Circa 2017 – Southeast of Bakersfield – Best Wedding Eva! Why? I’ll tell you in a moment. This picture was taken the moment I announced “cake slice are now available!” Of course, they didn’t leave the dance floor because the bartender was located right next to the dance floor (not in frame) and who wants to walk over to the cake slices table which is 50 feet in the other direction? About 20 minutes later I announced “it’s time for the garter & bouquet toss!” As soon as that was done, we continued with the party dancing and a few guests did linger over to the cake slices but for the most part guests were staying put near the bartender. It was a hosted bar meaning you didn’t have to spend your own money. By the time all was said and done and I was packing up, the guests devoured the cake slices I guess as a means to sober up. The majority of the guests drove over a hundred miles and rented a hotel just to make this wedding. It was located and hidden 2 miles past oil pump fields. Endless rolling hills of oil pumps. On the drive into the oasis with a creek running right next to the reception, my first thought was “oh dear, oil and dead grass but as soon as you came over a hill, it was a Green paradise! To see so many guests invest in the expenses but enjoy such a beautiful location and drink and dance the night away was the Best Wedding Eva!
