Circa 2017 – San Joaquin Valley- Why are they standing on one leg? I’ll tell you in a moment. I’ve commented about this event in a previous post which I labeled the Best Wedding Reception Eva. Such a delightful day. It was a 2.5 hour drive to an undisclosed location South East of Bakersfield, CA. 2 miles before destination, there were foothills the size of a 2 story building. Big deal, right? No, on the hills were those oil pumping machines in the shape of a hammer, you know what I’m talking about. As a kid I use to think they looked more like the body of a T-Rex. Ironic as a kid and I thought they designed them that way because I was told Dinosaurs turned into oil; same oil that is being pumped. Sounds logical. So, as we are driving through these oil pumping hills with dead or no vegetation, I thought “oh boy, this reception must be a super budget event” I mean everything seemed dead, baron of life. Then all of a sudden we drove over the last hill and it was lush with Green life and a 50 foot wide shallow river bed. So, the ceremony was scenic and then the party kicked into high gear. The dj, dancing and libations maintained at full capacity. The bride specifically wanted to play the “Cha Cha Slide” at a specific moment during the dancing to make sure her childhood friends and family participated. This moment in time of the picture was during the beginning of the song when you’re waiting for the first dance sequence instructions. #mrjdservices #weddindj #djinla
