Circa April 2019 – Ojai, CA – It’s a family retreat but where are all the kids? I’ll tell you in a moment. It’s a 4 day “get away” filled with family bonding exercises, games, competitions and fun. I didn’t get to see all of it as it was explained to me by a country line dance instructor. The instructor was booked to help out as a chaperone during the day and then teach line dancing in the evening with me for the karaoke dj party. This was our 3rd time the retreat hired us for this yearly event. This time around the parents decided to change up the pace and make the karaoke dj party a 80s theme. You’ll see in the picture the bright colors and attire from the 80s. Also, the parents realized that in order to have a better party they need to keep the kids busy and distracted. At this moment in time of the picture, all the kids are eating popcorn and watching a movie with other young, hip female chaperones. Except for the country line dance instructor as she was with us for the party. As a result the parents had twice as much fun dancing, twerking and gambling. Yes, they had a few casino tables for added fun with a raffle swapped out for the chips players won.
